Spewing Hatred: Joshua Treviño

Ever since the addition of Josh Treviño to the US commentary team of The Guardian on the 15th of August, more and more of the blatant racism and Islamophobia by Treviño has been exposed by sites such as the Electronic Intifada.
Treviño openly incited for the murder of flotilla passengers that were heading to break the naval blockade on Gaza in 2010.

In the aftermath of the IDF raid on the flotilla and attack on the activists on-board, nine activists were shot and killed.

There were six ships participating in the flotilla and this is what Treviño hoped the outcome to be.

Looking at Treviño’s tweets easily helps you understand his character and his blind support for anything the Zionist entity does, which is why these tweets don’t come as a surprise.

Sickening tweet in reference to Rachel Corrie, who was an American peace activist bulldozed to death by an Israeli DB9 while she was protesting the house demolition of a Palestinian family. One of the ships in the Flotilla was named Rachel Corrie in her honor.

Treviño even takes shots at one of the passengers of the flotilla journalist Joseph Dana, implying that since Joseph does not agree with them then he does not care if he is shot and killed.

Another astounding tweet shows that Treviño equates an attempt of breaking the siege on Gaza which is deemed collective punishment, is in essence the same as calling for the extermination of all Jews.

A little bit of Islamophobia to garnish all the hate with.

In this set of tweets, Treviño manages to explain that he supports killing passengers of the flotilla and sinking the ships for various reason such as, that they should be aiding democracy in Iran instead, because they are coming for him next (with humanitarian aid I suppose) and because doing so is the same as killing people in video games (cool or thrilling?)

This is the last tweet I managed to dig up but I’m sure there are plenty more, Treviño throws in some false information, deciding to disregard the oppression of Palestinian Christians in Israel and claiming Christians are oppressed in Gaza.

Please write to the Guardian asking them to fire Josh Treviño for his bigoted views and expert hatred spewing, for information on how to do this please visit this page by our fellow friends at Electronic Intifada.

  1. he is a clear Zionist and blind supporter of Israel. however, Christians are indeed oppressed in Gaza. you didn’t have to deny that oppression at the end just to make the former point about this racist.

    • I do not support the current rule in Gaza, yet I don’t believe Christians are oppressed any more than the Muslims of Gaza, In the past two month severals reports have surfaced about forced conversions of Christians which were proved to be completely false which begs the question of honest reporting and the validity of such claims of oppression.
What Trevino implied was a dishonest portrayal of the Israeli reality in which Palestinian Christians in Israel are oppressed and shoved to the side, by claiming that he can live in Israel as a Christian is a total deviation of the real problem which is not religion but rather origin, your religion doesn’t matter if you are Palestinian, because Israel will oppress you nonetheless.
Furthermore it is hypocritical to criticize what ever form of oppression present in Gaza while painting a picture of total peace in Israel.
